| rooms are tiny and outdated. Service was less than accommodating. Location is within walking distance to town and beach. Grounds were nice, but not a spectacular place. |

| Perfect location to walk to the beach - the hotel will even give you a blanket - as well as walking to all the great restuarants in town. The surrounding gardens were beautiful. The only negative was one of the front desk staff - a woman who was pregnant and rude every time we had to talk with her. It got to the point that we would wait until she was gone to ask a question. All other front desk staff were helpful and gracious! |

| Mine was a last minute booking on a road trip south from San Fran. The hotel is on the US heritage list for a reason, lovely old buildings but this comes at a price and not a 4* price. Great location in the heart of Carmel and close to the beach but it felt more like a decent 3* and not a 4*. All this being said, I enjoyed my stay and loved Carmel. |

| The hotel is lovely and charming...exquisite flowere in its courtyard. The only complaint I have is the plumbing pipes within the walls inbetween the rooms are loud due to not being insulated. We were awakened earlier than we liked due to the noise. Otherwise a lovely place to stay. |
